How to add True North Disability Services as an Authorized Representative

Provide Authorization
Via a Signature

To begin your Disability Tax Credit application, you must authorize True North Disability Services through your “CRA My Account”, or, provide information of a prior tax return that was filed at least 6 months ago.

This Allows Us To:

Authorizing us is quick, secure, and takes less than 5 minutes to do.

What Is Required?

To generate this CRA Signature Page (through the Represent a Client system), the CRA requires specific information that matches exactly what they have on file.

Click here to download a PDF to provide the required information to us. Once we receive your details, we will submit them through CRA’s Represent a Client portal & generate an Authorization Signature Page. This page will then be emailed to you for your signature.

Please note: Once the page is generated through the CRA’s “Represent a Client” system, it must be signed and filed within 30 days, or it will expire.

Why must line 15000 be from a tax return that is at least 6 months old?

To Prevent Fraud or Unauthorized Access

Line 15000 is used by the CRA as a shared secret something only the taxpayer should know. If someone recently filed a return (within the last 6 months), it’s easier for an unauthorized person (e.g. a fraudster or preparer) to access that data. Waiting 6 months reduces the risk that someone could use recently submitted info maliciously.

Your Privacy Matters

Rest assured, your personal information is handled with the utmost confidentiality. Authorizing us grants permission to manage your DTC application; it does not provide access to your banking information or personal CRA login credentials.
